LOCHORE COUNTRY PARK
OS Grid Reference: NT1595, Landranger 58 Directions: There are two entrances to the park on the West side, both of which are accessed from the B996 between Cowdenbeath and Kinross. The southern entrance at NT 152948 allows access to a car park closest to the hide which overlooks the two ponds of the nature reserve. The other entrance, slightly further North at NT 144958, allows access to the North West corner of the loch and can provide a better view of wildfowl depending on their position and the light conditions. Lochore Meadows can gather a large number of Pochard, Tufted Duck and Goldeneye in winter. Interesting duck species that have been found here include Ring-necked Duck, Red-crested Pochard, Smew and Mandarin. Whooper swans are regular visitors. Wildfowl are not the only birds of interest at Lochore, however, and Fife's first and second Arctic Redpoll were both found here
