2010 Indoor Meetings ScheduleIndoor meetings start at 7.30pm and are held at the Dean Park Hotel in Kirkcaldy. Tuesday 7th September “Birds in Japan in Winter” The guest speaker is at this meeting is Rob Armstrong, an FBC and Fife Branch SOC member who lives in Guardbridge. Rob will be known to many for his excellent track record in finding rare and scarce birds on the Eden Estuary. Tonight, however, the focus of his talk will be on birds he encountered during a winter trip to Japan. With a wide range of species and truly spectacular landscapes this is a great birding destination, and Rob’s talk will give us a taste of just how good it is. Thursday 28th October “Seabirds of the Western Pacific” Tonight’s speaker is Angus Hogg, a resident of Ayrshire, but who will be well known to many of you for his birding activities. He is a past-President of the SOC and is currently Secretary of the Scottish Birds Records Committee. The talk will feature photos taken on a recent trip and given his skills as a photographer and orator is sure to be a wonderful evening. Thursday 9th December “FBC Members Night” The annual social evening: with the chance to show and admire a selection of slides and other footage taken by FBC members. This is always a good opportunity for a relaxed chat and catch up on what other members have been seeing, doing and filming during the year.
